So many thanks to those who could say something, I couldn't but I will share this poem Karsten wrote while attending a writer's seminar in september 2016 in Paris as when we exchanged some e-mails and I observed that he wasn't very concentrated. It is named: " You asked for it..." Crossing a bridge when I walk to work every morning Crossing a bridge on every page I write during the day Crossing a bridge whenever I breathe For every breath is water under the bridge Even in Paris where nothing can be locked up Not even youth He was so brave. Let's get inspired.

Dear Karsten, we miss you sorely. You were such a kind and caring friend, who took a keen interest in other people. And we absolutely adored your wonderful “British” sense of humour. After each and every meeting with you, one felt both “enriched and enlightened” by your wit and knowledge. As an example, I always marvelled at your posts on Facebook. On top of being a researcher, a scholar and a writer, how on earth did you find hours enough in your days to also read so many interesting articles and share them with the rest of us. And whenever you visited Amanda in Copenhagen, you always seemed to squeeze in a little time for Preben and myself for a quick bite and/or a beer. I believe our last meeting was on 3 August 2017 “in the company of” Hans Christian Andersen. I felt happy – and in a way privileged – when you asked me about one year ago to read and give you feedback on your “novelette”, I think you called it. Once again, here was a text which reflected your wit, knowledge and good penmanship. We had quite a few interesting and rewarding chats on the net and on the phone during my time as your “proof reader”. What we will also miss sorely, of course, is our tradition of meeting every year in the afternoon on 24th December to touch base and to wish each other a Merry Christmas. Neither Christmas time, nor indeed any time, will be the same without you. Your loving friends, Preben and Elizabeth

Karsten, you had a huge heart, quick wit and infectious love for life. I admire the way you walked in the world and cherish the time that we spent watching football and making sense of this confusing world that now feels less bright and brilliant.

Dear Karsten, was so sorry and saddened to hear of your passing. I remember your humour and love of cars...that and your kind friendliness made R&D a fun and interesting place to work in. Later on, I admired your courage after being diagnosed. Rest in peace and thanks for the fun and laughter.

Dear Karsten, Your beautiful presence will always be with us, as well as your beautiful words that you sent me, a 300 page manuscript you sent me a few months before leaving this earth. Sending love to you in perpetuity and to your family and I hope you gave them a copy of your as yet unpublished manuscript for your novel. I am absorbing it day by day.
