1 de septiembre de 1957 - 25 de enero de 2021
Junichi Asada, 63, of Simi Valley, California died on January 25, 2021 following a valiant battle with a rare neurodegenerative condition known as olivopontocerebellar atrophy. Jun was born September 1, 1957 in Kyushu, Japan and grew up in Kanagawa until 1975 when he moved to Atlanta, Georgia to attend Oglethorpe University. Following his passion for designing antique Harley Davidson motorcycles, he studied at the American Motorcycle Institute in Florida before owning custom motorcycle shops in Honolulu and Tokyo. After a brief return to Japan he married Keiko Miyata before relocating to California in 1995. Jun was someone who lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures. Gregarious and extroverted, family and friends describe him as someone who wanted others to be happy and enjoyed making people laugh. His frankness and gentle manners will be missed by those that he touched during his life. Jun is survived by his wife of 31 years, two daughters, father, mother, and sister.

Jun-san, My heart is less full today knowing that you went home to heaven. You were an amazing friend and I feel a loss knowing this past year with Covid robbed me of more opportunities to share life with you. With your infectious spirit you quietly walked into OceanFresh Seafood. Then before I knew it you were sharing all of your talents with me. The days that we spent together enjoying a creation from your seemingly limitless imagination allowed me to look at food and life a bit differently as I listened to your life stories. Our trips downtown LA to the fish markets allowed you to teach me even more. Your willingness to connect and share means that Jun-san will live on even with your absence. I will never forget your smile, jokes and laugh or even our more serious conversations about spiritual things. For Sylvia's 40th birthday when you were chef for a large crowd of friends and quickly became the life of the party. You will always live in my heart and the heart of so many. You will be missed but there will be the anticipation of seeing you again.
