Judi Thomas

Judith Ann Thomas, aged 64, died peacefully in the arms of her husband on January 21, 2023 at her home in Mesa, AZ after a courageous battle with Multiple System Atrophy (MSA).

Judi was born in Glen Allen, VA to Linwood and Edna Thomas on October 9, 1958. She pursued multiple professional occupations including modeling, television, teaching, and interior design before spending 23 years at IBM. On November 4, 1984 and November 4, 1987, she welcomed her two beautiful daughters, Melissa Thomas and Kristen Fenner, respectively. Judi fell in love and married Paul Wolf in 1993. They spent the next 30 years enjoying their timeshare, traveling in their RV or boat, dancing, and watching their favorite shows together. In her later years she found joy in being with her grandchildren.

Judi was a petite, southern woman who loved fashion and never left the house without wearing her prized heels. She had many passions including playing the piano, reading, crocheting, spending time with friends, playing board games, and sunbathing. Her most prized skill was bringing out the best in others at home and work. People often went to her for advice as she had patience, kindness and wisdom. As a result, she was loved by her co-workers, friends and family.

Judi is survived by her husband, Paul; her sister, Linda Uzzle; her children, Melissa and Kristen; five grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents, Linwood and Edna; and her brother, Ernest Thomas.

Judi will be laid to rest in Richmond, VA next to her family on February 4, 2023 at noon at Westhampton Memorial & Cremation Park. In respect of her last wishes, there will not be a memorial service. A Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later time. Please share photos and your favorite stories on this memorial page. They will be compiled and a book made for the family.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Multiple System Atrophy (MSA) Coalition in her honor. MSA is a rare, degenerative neurological disorder affecting the body’s involuntary (autonomic) functions and motor control. The symptoms include progressive loss of movement and balance, difficulty swallowing, and speech abnormalities. There are currently no treatments to delay the progressive neurodegeneration of MSA, and there is no cure. The link to her individual donation site can be found below in the About Section.
