The family would like to thank everyone who has contacted us to extend condolences. The outpour of love and support so greatly apprecieated. Our family is absolutely crushed by Jon’s sudden passing and we sincerely appreciate every message, donation, and act of kindness we’ve received. As we navigate this devastating loss, the family will be holding a private ceremony to grieve together intimately.

OBITUARY

From the very beginning of life, Jon was a son and a brother and he performed those duties admirably. He respected and assisted his parents. He bonded with and confided in his older brother. He protected and guided his little sisters. As a boy, Jon made friends so deeply connected to him, they became additional siblings. When Jon bonded with someone, it was permanent. It was for life. As he became a man he turned the dedication he had for his family and friends outward. He poured himself into work becoming a loss prevention specialist putting his God given protective instincts to good use. Jonathan built a successful career that he was proud of, but that pride paled in comparison to what he felt upon the birth of his only child Abigail. Fatherhood is where Jon truly shined, because beneath his strong, funny, casual, easygoing exterior, Jonathan was an incredibly sensitive and unusually loving man. Abigail was Jon’s WHOLE WORLD. He was a dad who knew his daughter, spent time with his daughter, called, texted, walked to school with his daughter. Every decision Jon made was for the benefit of Abby. Even in his last moments, among the last messages he sent were several - asking family members to take care of his sweet girl. No matter what struggles he went through, Jon was a good man in every sense of the word. Strong. Reliable. Humble. Kind. We should all be so lucky to have someone like him in our lives - even for a moment. Always and forever loved and missed, Jonathan Earl Saunders is a legend.

Jonathan leaves behind his daughter Abigail, his mother Louise, his siblings Jennifer, Jasmine, Bahe, Carl, and Crystal. He has many cherished nieces and nephews as well as a large, loving extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins and a circle of lifelong friends who were brothers/sisters to him in every way. Jon was preceded in death by his father and bonus dad Jose Garcia and Henry T. Saunders III as well as his best friend and brother Gary.
