John Robert Story

John Robert Story (Bootsie) was born June 7, 1964 in Lincoln, Alabama to the union of the late Mr. Argoe Joe Story and Geraldine Halcyonia Ragland Story.

On Tuesday, September 5, 2023 he unexpectedly departed his earthly home to be with the Lord and his family that proceeded him in death, sister Luann Story, father Argoe Joe Story, mother Geraldine Halcyonia Ragland Story, brother Argoe Joe Story jr, grandparents Luther and Deola Story as well as Dave and Lucy Smith.

He is survived by, with memories forever ingrained in their hearts; his daughter Jordon Rayshawn Story, siblings Linda Ragland Groce (Alfred), Arthur Story, of Lincoln, Alabama, Dennis Ragland of Jasper, Alabama, Maryum Lane of Gadsden, Alabama, James Story of Clay, Alabama and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

He was a devoted father who loved his daughter Jordon with all his heart. Whenever he spoke of her, that sometimes hard outer shell would melt away. Bootsie was strong willed and sometimes stubborn and for those who knew and loved him also knew that he was like a Porcupine….. You just had to rub him the right way. He was a jack of all trades who loved working, especially with his brothers and brother-inlaw (Alfred). Outside of work he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and having fun with his brothers and friends. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all that knew him.
