John Henry Bazemore Jr.

"Keep me alive by any means necessary, I wish to be in line for a miracle." This was John Bazemore's major desire in life...a plaintive plea for still more life. Indeed, he held on to it with every Fibre of his being, epitomizing the line in Rudyard Kiplings poem "If" that says "hold on until there is nothing in you except the will that says to THEM hold on," despite age, physical infirm and worldly challenges. However, on October 27, 2021, John Henry Bazemore Jr was returned back from whence he came….to continue his life from the comfort of home and in accordance with John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life" He is now forever one with The Lord. While on this side of eternity, Mr. Bazemore--as he was called by everyone who surrounded him who wasn't his family and even his "sweet young wife" - lived robustly, laughed readily, and fiercely loved with a passion that authenticates the word "love" God and his family. Here, was A Man. And the kind of man that one might say "they just don't make em like that anymore." Classic style he kept his roads strait and lived a healthy lifestyle, was steadfast and honorable-- a military man having retired in 1977 from a successful army and airforce career working in the Pentagon as an intelligence officer and secretary for the joint chiefs of staff and programming the military's computers. Trustworthy and unassuming, he has always been a constant source of resource and support for anyone in need--a veritable foundational pillar in the lives of his family and friends. He will be missed yet constantly remembered by his sweet young wife, LaVesta Johnson-Bazemore, his son-- Asa Johnson a daughter-- Elizabeth Pringle, granddaughter-- Antonia Pringle and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, grand nieces and nephews and great grand nieces and nephews, as well as many, many friends and lives he touched for the better.
