Good Morning, Steve and his children would like to thank everyone for helping us celebrate Jean's life. Jean grew up in Worth and was 1 of 4 siblings John, Judy, and Jim who recently passed away. She also had foster siblings. 36 years ago Jean and Steve got married, moved to Villa Park and started a family. Jean was very proud of her 4 children Beth, Sarah, Joe and Dan. Jean loved her children and was very proud of all their accomplishments. Jean was very proud to watch Beth and Joe graduate from Naval training and their assignment to their permanent duties. They both are living on the east coast. Sarah is working in Missouri and going to school to pursue a career in order to help others who are having difficulties in their life. Dan is a hippie and is working on wind generators helping to create clean power in Colorado. Jean met Janet here at St. Johns and helped her start a nursery here at this parish. They went on many church team retreats and became closer to God. Jean got involved with school activities and eventually earned the District 45 award for Merit. Jean was always willingness to help out wherever she was needed and was appreciated by many in the community. Janet enjoyed being herself with Jean. They had many wonderful times together. They went on Boy Scout outings and campouts. Janet's favorite thing to do was to get Jean riled up so Jean would say ‘BITE ME'!! Jean helped Sherri with the scouts as well. She helped Sherri teach them how to cook on their camping trips and also went with Sherri on the campouts. Jean and Sherri enjoyed going to Plays, District dinners, Fall Festivals, Sunny Acres pumpkin patches, and ESPECIALLY going for ice cream; going to many different ice cream shops was always an adventure with Jean. She earned Den leader award, Webelos leader award and Scout leader award. She loved going to Wineries and dressing up to go to Renaissance Fairs with Steve. Jean enjoyed canoeing and bike riding with Janet, Sherri and myself. Going to the 4th of July parade in Villa Park was a real treat for Janet, Sherri and Jean. The wonderful thing about Jean was that she was a great listener After her adult children had grown and moved on with their lives, Jean went back to college studying accounting because she wanted to go back to work, where she Aced all her exams and got her degree. Jean and I met while we were walking our kids to North School; we were both pushing strollers! I was doing daycare and she would come over often to have a cup of tea and visit. When she went to the store, she would always call and ask if I needed anything. She was my personal Peapod service! When I had to take a sick family member to the doctor she would help with my daycare kids. In the evenings when both our husbands were working nights, or on my hubby's bowling night, she would come over and watch our favorite show NCIS and have a glass of wine. I will miss our teatime during the day and our wine time in the evenings. Jean was a wonderful sister, wife, mother and a great friend. She will be missed by everyone who knew her.
