I am very saddened to hear of Jack's death. I taught him in high school. He was a very kind and friendly person whose bright smile lit up the room. It was a gift to have known him.

Dear Kate, Brian and Kendall, I was so very shocked and saddened to learn from you of Jack's passing. It is inconceivable that he is not with you anymore. I didn't really know Jack very well but my camera lighted upon him quite often as he bombed around the playground with his friends, leading some game or adventure. His smile was sometimes mischievous and always open and I remember him as a busy, sometimes earnest little boy, considerate to my son who was the year below him. A good lad. As we parents would talk, Jack, Jack (Donoghue) and Jackson would be playing. My last photos of Jack were taken on his high school graduation and so I am sorry not to have met the bearded young man he became. My love and sympathies to both of you and Kendall too.

Dear Kate and Brian and family and friends, I am terribly sad to learn about Jack. As a neighbour I was always happy to see him and it was a treat to watch him grow from a sweet little boy to a solid young man. He was kind, appreciative, polite and willing to help out all the time. I remember him as a cute little guy smiling and chatting with me on the sidewalk, and as a mature young man, sharing his plans while helping out at my house. I can't begin to express my condolences - it is truly a tragic loss of Jack.

Dear Kate, Brian, family and friends, I taught Jack at Fern, and have many fond memories of him in our school community. At a young age Jack was curious and enthusiastic about the world around him. His love for nature and talent for drawing was evident. He was always kind to the people around him and his smile was contagious. I am saddened by this tragic news. He will be missed.

Dear Kate and Brian - Jack was a very important friend to our family and his lust for all things nature and his connection he had with Baxter was unmatched, unique and special in every way. They never had to spend time together to know they were friends. Too many fond memories to even begin to post. Our family will miss him forever and he will always be remembered.
