Irene R. Vigil passed away at her home in San Pedro, NM on June 29, 2024.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernesto R. Vigil, grandson, Vincent G. Vigil, parents, In-Laws, and many other family and friends.
She is survived by her son, Gerard Vigil (Patsy), and her grandson, John Hernandez (Amber).
Rosary will be on Monday, July 8, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Church in Santa Cruz, NM. Mass to follow at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 2:00 p.m.
Honorary Pallbearers will be her grandson, John Hernandez, Godson, Marty Pippin, and Goddaughters Analisa Miranda, Jessica Angel, and Cindy Maestas-Salazar.
In Lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Cancer Institute of New Mexico, 490-A West Zia Road, Santa Fe, NM 87505, or to the San Gabriel Historical Society at the Plaza de Espanola, PO Box 4545 Espanola, NM 87532.

Gerard and family and my dearest Ruybali friends (almost sisters), I am so saddened to learn of Irene’s death. My memories of this dear lady go back to my school years. Being very close friends to Florence Ruybali we were constantly at Irene’s house. She and Tito welcomed us with open arms. They took us to ball games, dances and shopping in Santa Fe. Irene was the Ruybali matriarch and in her younger years she did an outstanding job of keeping everyone in line! But now her life on earth is over. She left you a wonderful legacy to follow. Be comforted with wonderful memories of this amazing woman. Rest in peace my friend Irene.
