"Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted." Mathew 5:4
Glenn Harvey Rodgers (65) passed away on April 25, 2026 in Bakersfield California. Born November 27, 1960 in San Pedro California to Inez and Harvey Rodgers, Glenn grew up in San Pedro and graduated from Banning High School in 1978. Soon after, he met and married Felecia Smith and in their 25 years together they raised two children, Brittany Aja-Lena and Glenn Joseph-Lee.
Glenn will be remembered for his dedication - to his family, his friends, and community. Passionate and headstrong, Glenn was devoted to continuous biblical study, and committed to serving his community by participating in local elections and supporting small businesses. Glenn loved music and enjoyed singing, dancing, and learning piano; he had a great appreciation for good vocals and a catchy beat. Glenn enjoyed being around people and enjoyed discussions ranging from sports to theology to movies to tech. He also was an active member in the churches he attended, and delighted in opportunities to teach, provide testimony, and pray for others.
Throughout his life Glenn was a sports fan - from playing football with his brothers, tennis at the park, going to Dodger Stadium or watching a game at home, Glenn was a sports fan through and through.
Professionally Glenn was a truly gifted salesman and an exceptionally devoted employee, consistently earning leadership roles throughout his career.
Glenn will be remembered for his fervor, humor, and dedication to his faith.
Glenn is survived by his children, Brittany and Glenn J. Rodgers, his brothers Ray, Carl, Kendall, sister Kimberly, and Felecia Hansen. Glenn is preceded by Harvey Rodgers, brother Allen Rodgers, mother Inez, sister Ethel Harper, and Joseph New.
A private celebration of life will be held on Sunday, July 21st in San Pedro, California. Donations can be made to Glenn’s Memorial Fund (https://gofund.me/5b7120a89)
