He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away. Revelation 21:4
Glenn Jeffry Cotter, age 62, of Burlington, WA, passed away unexpectedly on September 30, 2024. He was born on April 29, 1962, in Buena Park, CA and was raised by Jack and Olga Cotter.
Glenn graduated from Oregon State University in 1988 with a B.S. in Civil Engineering and a B.S. in Business. He began his career at DOW spearheading environmental clean up and over the years transitioned into director-level positions in the technology sector. Glenn was an innovative leader who inspired his team through his ability to problem solve and transform projects into top-tier deliverables that exceeded expected quality, much like he would do in his personal life.
Outside of work, there was never a weekend spent without his family, working on a project around the house, and spending time outside. Glenn loved making things be the best they could be, whether that was customizing the eaves on his shop, finding a great deal to share, or being the first one to the post-Christmas holiday decoration sales to add to the spirit of next year. He was constantly dedicated to improvement in his self and in supporting growth in his family and friends - through education, job seeking support, or lending time to help work through a problem.
Glenn actively pursued big adventures, exploring new places, and helping others build and fix things. He was passionate about his kids, providing for his family, giving his kids a quality education, and was the biggest fan of Christmas. His love language was acts of service and he shared it well.
Glenn was a devoted husband and father. He is survived by his wife, Julie; his children, Ashley, Madisen (Andrew), and John (Justyn); and his step-children Logan (Erin) and Jennifer. He is also survived by his mother Olga, sister, Diane (Greg) Barnes, his nieces Nora and Mia, and Sally Stewart, the mother of Ashley, Madisen, and John.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on December 7, 2024, at North Cascades Adventist Church in Burlington, WA. The family invites friends and those who knew Glenn to gather for a celebration of his life at the church.
Glenn will be remembered for his laugh, frequent dad jokes, and zest for fun and adventure. His unwavering generosity with his time and resources were one of his greatest gifts. The holes in our hearts will never be filled. We miss you Dad - you are incredibly loved.
