My family has such wonderful memories of my Uncle George. We used to meet George and Hazel at the Family Pancake House on Saturday’s with my mom and dad Bob and Sylvia after walking Greenlake. We shared lots of laughs and had good conversation. There were great family gathering at George and Hazels home at Christmas time with amazing food. It was so much fun seeing and goofing around with all the cousins. He was a God loving man who thought so much of his family, and will be truly missed by all. We love you George. You’re home now

I have many fond memories of George. He was a mechanical whiz with an incredible work ethic and limitless energy but my memories are about his enthusiasm for life and especially those around him, both of which I experienced in my high school years. George gave David, David, and I our first 3D yard service jobs around the Squires house and machine shop, helped us with anything we or 3D needed, found time to take us skiing and camping, worked on our cars, and shared in our excitement over a ‘65 Cadillac that leaked when it rained and burned as much oil as gas. He helped rebuild the top end of the Cadillac engine in the evenings after his long days at work so it would take us to CA and almost back home. Actually, we watched while he did the rebuild. The funniest fond memory I have is from a camping/ski trip. He was working on the wiring under the dashboard of the motor home. In my memories, he was always working on something. It is one of the few times I recall being with George and no one else. I was holding tools for him—probably because I wanted to get out of the sun—and I recall that it was relaxing to sit and listen while he worked. While he was working and talking, he fell asleep mid-sentence. I was not sure if I should say something, wake him, leave him, or wait. I waited. He woke up after a few minutes with a chuckle and said “oh, I fell asleep on you there.” Of course he had the wiring functional just a short time later, which was unfortunate for me because my time with George and shade was over, at least on this trip. A few years later, Connie and Carla were enthusiastically welcomed by George on another Squires camping and ski trip. I don’t recall time alone with George on that trip but no need, I remember some shade and very many happy people made so by George’s enthusiasm for life and his desire to share it with those around him.
