In loving memory of a legend. We will love & miss you always.
Gary Jones passed away peacefully on the 14th of March 2021 aged just 49 years. A loving Father, Husband, Son, Brother, Nephew & Uncle. He was a loyal friend to many.
Gary was born 11th August 1971 in Harlow to parents Lynne & Percival, and along with his brother Dave was raised in Felmore, Pitsea.
Gary attended Chalvedon school and Basildon College and in 1989 he met Belinda, who he enjoyed a long relationship with and even though they went their separate ways, Gary would often speak fondly of her through the years.
Gary was a very loyal, friendly person with a wicked sense of humour. He enjoyed a sociable life with friends enjoying a drink or ten. He was known affectionately as ‘Pukey’ in his early years and ‘Adidas man’ later on, born from his love of Adidas clothing.
He loved playing chess, darts and poker, and was very good at it. His laugh would fill the room and his presence and dry wit would brighten anyone's day.
Gary worked on the Railway for some time fixing train carriages, and then at York international as a machine fitter. It was around this time that he met his wife Michelle, and after a whirlwind romance they soon moved in together, got married and became parents to Caleb all within 18 months.
He went to college to qualify as an electrician, but although he passed his course, he ended up working at Ford in Dagenham as a line worker / engineer which he really enjoyed.
He was interested in martial arts, and trained in Wing Chun attaining many belts and disciplines. He loved martial arts films and the whole culture of it all. He was an avid reader of books, especially in sci fi & fantasy fiction, he loved sci fi films & tv especially stargate, star trek and Star wars and he had a real interest in quantum physics, the universe, the supernatural and Egypt especially the pyramids, which he would talk about with great zest. He liked rock music, slipknot being a particular favourite.
Gary sadly lost his Mother Lynne in 2004, his Brother Dave the following year and his Uncle Barry in 2013 but is survived by his Wife Michelle, his Son Caleb, his Father Percival, his Nephew Tyler & his children, as well as his aunt Eunice & cousins in New Zealand, and his vast Welsh family of Aunts, Uncles & Cousins.
Cancer took you away far too soon, but through it all, your resilience & bravery was truly inspirational to many, which is a legacy to be very proud of.
Gary, all that is left is the memory of your smile that would brighten the darkest of days. You were a wonderful person, a wonderful husband, a wonderful father and friend. We love you always and we will miss you so very much. Rest In Peace.

Ive not known what to say every time I got the chance to but I am one of Calebs friends. I’m not around all that often but Caleb always has been there for me, he’s always been resilient and a gentleman and just the best kinda person you could get to know. I didn’t really know gary but I know Caleb and i’m certain he got a lot of his outstanding traits from Gary. He always made Caleb light up whenever he talked about him and because of that Gary will live on in the hearts of people that Caleb brings his happiness to. Shine bright Gary.
