Gone but not forgotten! I came to know Frank in the last few years of his life. I worked with him helping him with his properties. It was, from what I observed, a true passion for him! It seemed like he always was in and around his properties. The times I stopped in he always greeted me with a smile. We talked about his tennis exploits; the time he would spend exercising over at the San Leandro Marina, and his family. I recall one time where Frank tried to pay me for something I did for him. He reached in his pocket and pulled several bills out. He tried to get me to take them. I refused and he looked at me with quizzical look on his face. He smiled! In that moment, I knew Frank was the kind of person I was glad I worked for and came to know. The last time I saw Frank he was seated up against the tire shop. He smiled when I walked up. I will miss him!

I would like to share a story of Frank Lopez from his soccer days. I am Felix Arredondo, Frank is my brother-in-law and Ida is my sister. When I was a kid, Frank and my sister would pick me up and take me to his soccer games. It was my understating that Frank played professionally and semi-pro in Mexico, so when he came to the U.S. and played locally he was a scoring machine. I was in the stands one game where a fan on Frank's team was running a pool: he was taking bets on which team player would score the first goal. People picked from the starting lineup. Frank, at this point in his career, was the oldest player so he was not scheduled to start. The referee was ready to blow the starting whistle when players starting hollering, Frank get in there because one of the players was not ready. Within one minute of the start, Frank scored the first goal. The person running the pool was dumbfounded because no one picked Frank since he was not scheduled to start. It was a hilarious episode in the stands. His fans were laughing and cheering for Frank.

I partnered with Frank many times on the our tennis court in Palomares Hills and he was an awesome avid player at his age. He hardly missed any balls and the balls always come back to the other side like clockwork. He was compassionate player and was very easy to get along with. My condolences to the whole Lopez family. Rest in Peace Frank! You are always in my mind.
