Fook Hon will be remembered as a kind, caring, well respected leader and IBMer. He was IBM's CFO when I joined IBM and many years on he continued to impart his wisdom. Rest in Peace, Fook Hon. You will missed.

I have fond memories of uncle Fook Hon when i was growing up in Malaysia - playing at his house with my cousins, admiring his amazingly kept fish tank, looking through his telescope, enjoying our trips up to Genting with his family......Though always in the background, his quiet and gentle manner was always very assuring. Later in life i enjoyed his family's hospitality whenever i visited Malaysia. They were always generous and went out of their way to make sure all who stayed with them had a good time. When we heard of uncle Fook Hon's passing we were shocked and greatly saddened. Sad that we will not be able to see him again when we next visit and that things will somehow not be the same again. A wise friend of mine once said that God calls us home when the good works He had set aside for us to do is completed and i believe this is what happened to uncle Fook Hon. (Ephesians 2:10). His last day and peaceful passing reminds me of Enoch in Genesis 5:24/ Hebrews 11:5 - Enoch walked faithfully with God; then he was no more, because God took him away........ he was commended as one who pleased God. Thanking God for his life, remembering the good times and missing him. Love Bryce and Girlie

You didn’t talk a lot, and I talk even less. Thanks for the words, small talks, subtle jokes, interesting ideas. I always felt at ease when you were around. When I heard your voice in Zoom, I would come around to wave hello and say my “few words”. We had quite a few family trips and visits over the years and I (and family) enjoy every one very much. Thanks for your understanding and accomodating. Your kindness and generosity were frequently felt even when you were half a world away. Bro, RIP. I (we) miss you.

Fook Hon’s passing is such a blessed and gentle way to leave, much like the man he was. Whenever I went to Fook Hon for guidance and advice, I would leave grateful, comforted and more reflective. He’d always take his time with his answers, be very considered. And invariably, what he imparts would be pearls of wisdom. For years after I left IBM, I would talk about him to my clients and associates. I hold him up as a shining example of the understated yet wise and impactful leader. I consider myself very lucky to have known him. Daisy and family, stay strong.

I first met Fook Hon when he was CFO at IBM. In my dealings with Fook Hon as the CFO he was approachable and had a good grasp of financial matters. His views and comments were always practical and sensible. Will miss the dinners and conversations. Rest well my friend .

I came to know Fook Hon very well when he was made the CFO. Despite a sales background, he transitioned very well into the CFO role and quickly gained respect from everyone. He was a great leader, led the team well and always care for the team, He was humble, listened more than he spoke and never raised his voice. He was a good mentor to me, always something to learn from him. Rest well Fook Hon, you left too soon, we will miss you. Deepest condolences to all your love ones. SY Tan
