Finola and I went to Nipissing for our teaching degree and we were both in the French section. We did all of our projects together and we had a lot of laughs - I can still hear her laughter. Although we lost touch I often wondered how she was getting on, knowing she was a great teacher and making a difference. Please extend my condolences to Eileen and all the Fagan family. Señora Fagan was not only an amazing teacher but she was also one of the best people I have ever known. She loved all of her students and all of her students loved her. She was always there to support and guide us and she made her class such a safe environment for everyone and I loved going to her classes everyday. She made a lasting impact on my life and that of many others. She was not just a teacher, she was a role model and friend to all of her students. She was truly unlike anyone else I have ever met. She was such a ray of sunshine. No matter what was happening, she always made people smile. I’m forever grateful to have known her. She changed my life in so many ways. I will miss her so much and my heart goes out to her family at this hard time.

Sometimes I wonder where some of my favourite teachers have gone, and try to use Google to find them. I was absolutely shocked when I found that the kindest, most loveliest French teacher I'd ever had passed away so recently. She was amazing, and cared so much for her students. I went through a particularly rough patch in grade 9, and she checked in with me often during class, making sure things were okay. Clearly, she made an impact, as I still think about her kindness to this day. And I'm sure I'm just one of the many, many lives that she made a difference in. She was one of the best, and the world is so much less without her.

A lot of times you don’t realize when you’re faced with a person who will impact your life, but with Ms. Fagan I knew. From the first time I met her, I considered Ms. Fagan the epitome of how a person should carry themselves and treat others. At every turn I watched her treat every student with unmatched kindness, patience, and encouragement. I feel incredibly lucky to have had her as a teacher and a friend, and role model. Ms. Fagan taught me Spanish at Leaside, and sparked in me such a genuine passion for learning languages, that I’ve gone on to learn many more. A huge part of my life and career are centred around those joyful lessons of hers where she’d start a class by playing music, and end it by playing Gran Hotel on Fridays. Every time I hear a song she showed me, rewatch a telenovela, or feed a squirrel, pensaré en ti señora ❤️ To Ms. Fagan’s family, I offer all my love and condolences, she spoke very highly of you to her classes.
