Estelle La Maire Kennedy

Estelle Kennedy, 93, passed peacefully in her sleep, at home with her family at her side on December, 1, 2020. She was born in Sacramento, CA on April 13, 1927. Shortly after her birth she moved to Warren, NJ where she grew up. After she married she settled in North Plainfield, NJ where she spent the rest of her life. She was a 1944 graduate of North Plainfield High School. She had many life long friends and wished to be remembered as a loving family member, loyal friend, and one who saw beauty in everything. Estelle was a life long member of Watchung Avenue Presbyterian Church in North Plainfield. She was a deacon and served as head of the deacons for many years. She was known to donate to multiple charities. She was a member of Eastern Star and served as an officer for several years. She worked for 20+ years at Arlen Trophy in N. Plainfield , NJ and then 25 years at Channel in Piscataway, NJ as an executive secretary. She is survived by two sons, Ronald Kennedy and wife of Nolensville, TN, Richard Kennedy of N. Plainfield, NJ, two daughters, Betsi Kennedy of N. Plainfield, NJ, Jackie Kennedy Slattery of Metuchen, NJ, seven grandchildren, Ronald Kennedy Jr., Thomas Kennedy, Patrick Slattery, Erin Slattery Haney, Kate Kennedy Smolen, Sean Slattery, Elizabeth Kennedy, and six great-grandchildren. A private ceremony was held on Sunday, December 6, 2020 at her home. A memorial service is to be held at a later date.
