Emily Bournon
March 7th, 1999 - December 31st, 2018
March 7th, 1999 - December 31st, 2018
Gone too early, but with us forever.
Emily Bournon, born in March of 1999, was the daughter of Frank and Merideth Bournon. She departed this earthly life on Sunday, December 31st, 2018 at the age of 78.
She is survived by her three cousins: Jonah, Jackson, Louise Smith of Brunswick, GA. As well as her uncle Bill Robertson and some extended family.
After earning her GED from Palmer High School she started taking courses at the University of Anchorage Alaska. She was an active volunteer for habitats for humanity and the food bank of alaska. She would often write in her free time, fictional stories about everyday life characters and their daily struggles. Her favorite work was the story of a young man who is diagnosed with cancer but is not supported by his family through his battle with the disease, because he is a gay man with a devoted partner.
Emily was most recently employed as a cashier at Three Bears Alaska in Chugiak, AK. She was always on time, and always made sure to enjoy her time with her coworkers. It was routine for her to carry a dog biscuit with her to work for a dog she would bike past on her way to work.
As a woman of faith, Emily wished to have a celebration of the immortality promised to all by Christ. She would love to be remembered with funny, strange, or silly stories that celebrate what was good and blessed in her life.
"Emily made me the happiest I could have ever been while I had her, I am so appreciative of all of the people who she invited into our lives. She has made us all better, and we will never forget how she showed us all how to appreciate every moment.
-Merideth
"Emily was the sweetest girl you could ever meet. She never stopped smiling. Emily made everyones life better, she was beyond kind and could never hold anything against anyone. Emily moved everyones hearts, especially mine. She would always find the people that needed her and be there for them. She went way too early. She had such genuine love from all of us."
-Austin
"Emily will always occupy a portion of my heart, and I will never forget how happy she could make me. I live every day trying to show a piece of her love to everyone I meet."
-Frank
