My grandpa was an amazing man of God who loved like Jesus did!! I can still see him in his chair with the lamp on and the Bible on his lap, how I’d find him every morning and even a few times in the middle of the night as I was trying to sneak back in the house…he always listened to the Holy Spirit and knew when to pray. I know for a fact that his prayers literally saved my life quite a few times! He gave the best bear hugs and laughed as him and the neighbor would cut off chickens heads and watch their bodies chase us around the yard lol he was always working on the yard or in the garden. I will never forget the rides in the yellow pickup, riding in back of the old blue station wagon, or how we were the coolest kids ever because our grandpa would pick us up from school in his van that we could watch tv in. I remember how we’d get thrifty’s ice cream when we got good grades and can still hear him yelling across the yard “get outta the boat that’s not a toy!” He was a true example of what it meant to love and gave you the truth even when it wasn’t what you wanted to hear, but he always also gave grace and forgiveness and was always there no matter what even when you didn’t deserve it. I can only pray yo be as good of a parent and grandparent as grandpa and grandma were to us. Thank you for always being obedient to the Lord and being a living example! Give grandma a hug for me and give Mataya as many bear hugs as heaven will allow, I love you grandpa and am happy you are finally with your bride as I know your heart was missing her so much!

Grandpa, I know you were ready to go join the love of your life. I find great comfort knowing you are together again! No one could ever ask for a better example of how to be a man, father, grandfather and husband. I hope that one day I can come close to doing all these things as good as you. You taught me the importance of hard work and to always put family first. You taught me not to judge anyone and how to have empathy. I will miss the long conversations about your time in the Army and how you met grandma. I will miss your bear hugs and whisker tickles. I miss waking up early to burn weeds and using the rotor-tiller before making rows for green beans. I love you thank you for always supporting me and never judging me when I messed up. Save some of grandma’s chicken for me! -Moses-

My dear Uncle Dave .... you and Aunt Lu were and are so dear to my heart. My heart aches that I did not have time to spend talking to you about your lives. The summer time I spent with you was beyond wonderful. I have missed cousin John and Sandy so much as our lives have just spun in the time here on earth. Where does it all go so quickly? I pray so much that somehow you, Lucy, my mom and dad and so many more can somehow here me when I pray for the Lord to come quickly and bring us all back together SOON! Peace to you! Your memory is forever in my heart as with my parents and all whom I have loved so very much and have gone before me. -Becky (Rebecca)
