Douglas Pieper, Jr

Doug was a vibrant, loving man who left us all too early at the age of 39.  Doug was someone who always gave back to his community, the LGBTQIA+ community, and the homeless.  Doug had the power to rally people together to care for those in need, which brought him much joy.  Doug loved to paddle board, bike ride, cook, and most of all laugh.  Doug loved the beach, and being on the water, ever since he was young and grew up on Folsom Lake with his family.  Doug is survived by his husband Chris and his sister Megan, as well as extended family and chosen family.

Doug's Celebration of life will be a private gathering of close friends and family on July 21st, 2023, at Rudy's Hidaway 2-4pm.  Rudy's Hideaway holds a special place in his family's heart, as they used to dine there every Christmas Eve, and Chris and Doug would often celebrate the memory of his mother and father there as well.

Light refreshments and appetizers will be served as we all celebrate the many wonderful memories we have with Doug together.  There will not be a formal service or speeches, instead Doug wished for a positive, uplifting, and wonderfully social celebration of him.  Doug loved eveything colorful and sparkly, so please no black attire, only beautiful colors and sparkling jewelry of your liking please.
