"Laughter and tears are both responses to frustration and exhaustion. I myself prefer to laugh, since there is less cleaning up to do afterward." -Kurt Vonnegut, Jr.
Douglas Allen Domergue, 75, of Danville, California, passed away on August 31, 2026.
Doug was born on October 8, 1950, in Sewickley, Pennsylvania. His life was built on honesty, kindness, and a genuine interest in others. He had a wonderful network of friends, colleagues, and family who loved him.
Doug grew up as the middle child in a house of six kids in Pittsburgh's north hills and graduated from North Allegheny High School. After earning a bachelor’s degree in History from Penn State University, he went on to hold multiple roles in sales leadership, working with many startups along the way. He especially enjoyed fostering new relationships and mentoring the people he worked with.
Doug never met a stranger, and conversation was one of the ways he showed people he cared.
Outside of work, Doug coached all three of his boys in youth soccer and baseball, cheering them on from the sidelines as they continued to play in high school. He was a dedicated husband and father who emphasized academics, hard work, and the fair and equal treatment of others.
He enjoyed watching football (mainly if it was recorded so he could skip those pesky commercials), playing golf, and socializing, specifically at the gym.
Doug is survived by his wife of 54 years, Brenda; his sons and theirwives, Kyle (Kristin), Brett (Amanda), and Chase (Marla); and his five grandchildren, Tate, Gavin, Ruby, Ramona, and Finley, who were all his pride and joy. He is also survived by his brother, Glen, and sister, Marcy.
A service will be held on Monday, November 23, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. in the Wesley Center at San Ramon Valley United Methodist Church in Alamo, California. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation are appreciated.
