Delores "Dee" Acker

Delores Acker, affectionately known as Dee, passed away on June 21, 2024, at Kirkhaven Nursing Home in Rochester, NY. She accepted Christ into her life at an early age and lived a life of love. She graduated from San Juan Secondary School in Trinidad and St. Francis College. She late received certificates in Health Care

Delores retired in 2008 after 25 years of working in the service of others as housekeeping cordinator and home health aide nurse. She also owned a professional cleaning business.

Delores journey began in Trinidad, born to Rita and Lawerance Martin on February 6, 1948.

She immigrate to United States in 1985 to provide a better life for her family, sacrificing her own dreams to work tirelessly for their development. Dee's faith was a cornerstone of her life. She consistently gave honor and praise to God, embodying the words of Proverbs 3:5-6: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight."

Dee was a cherished member of the Martin family, sister to Norma Campbell, Merlin Nelson and Kenneth Martin. She married her beloved Frankie Claude Acker (Deceased), marking the beginning of a shared life filled with love and devotion.

Dee’s love extended to her eight children, Ashton Acker, Anton Acker, Rodney Acker, Stacey Acker (Corrine), Lorraine Acker (Donna), Candace Gardner (Keisha), Roxanne Acker (Deceased), and Wendell Acker (Deceased), who remembers her as a nurturing soul, always ready with a comforting word and encouraging story. Her twelve grandchildren, Kaylan, Bree, Blake, Skylar, Fenix, Alexie, Joshua, Shania, Ameer, Mylz, Kayla and Shantel. Her three great grandchildren, Dakota, Sade and Kairo will carry her legacy of kindness and joy.

Dee’s memory will be cherished and kept alive by her children, grandchildren and siblings.
