Darrin Wayne Somervill

DARRIN W. “MEATBALL” SOMERVILL Darrin “Meatball” Somervill, 52, went to his heavenly home to be with his Lord and Savior on August 28, 2023. He was born July 17, 1971 to Judith Evans Somervill and the late R. D. “Butch” Somervill. He graduated from Parkersburg High School in 1991 and was a member of Jefferson Baptist Temple in South Parkersburg. Darrin worked in the Automotive industry for many years including hauling cars with his dad, to detailing vehicles and even just finding and fixing them up to show off and resell. His love for cars didn’t stop there. Anyone who knew Darrin, knew he was a Chevrolet guy through and through and his absolute favorite were Chevelles and he made sure it was known. He loved everything about cars especially older generation cars, trucks, and hot rods - big wheels, loud motors and anything fast. He enjoyed going to car shows, spending time with his family and friends and making people laugh. There was never a dull moment when he was around. He had a multitude of friends and would give the shirt off his back or lend a hand to anyone that needed it. He was always full of smiles and had some kind of story to tell. He loved giving his family and friends a hard time with jokes, pranks, and just being ornery. Darrin is survived by his mother Judith Somervill of Parkersburg, sister Stacey (RJ) Morgan of Sistersville, many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and numerous friends. He is preceded in death by his father R. D. “Butch” Somervill, sisters Kimberly Somervill, and Tina Coss and brother-in-law Paul Coss. The family would like to thank Dr. Hendershot, Dr. Atik, the lovely ladies at DaVita Dialysis in Vienna, WV and the medical professionals that were blessed with Darrin’s presence throughout the years. A memorial service is set for September 23, 2023 at Noon at Jefferson Baptist Temple at 1405 Erie Street, Parkersburg, WV 26101 with Ron Hendershot officiating.
