"To Live in Hearts we Leave Behind is not to Die" ********************************************************So you have pain now; but I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you.” – John 16:22

Daniel Osagie  Egharevba, affectionately known as Uncle Dan, was born on March 17, 1943, to the family of Ohen-Osa N Ovah and Ugbeva, of Ovia North-East Local Government Area of Edo State, Nigeria. His father, Solomon Ogbomwan, was a farmer, while his mother, Victoria Enorioware, was a trader.

Uncle Dan received his primary and secondary education in Edo State, Nigeria. His primary education was at Ore-Oghene Primary School in Oredo Local Government Area, while his secondary education was at Edokpolor Boys Grammar School and Western Boys High School, both located in Benin City.

His professional journey was marked by a notable tenure as a military officer, where he served in the Pay and Records department of the Nigerian Military. Following his military career, Uncle Dan transitioned to civilian life, applying his skills as a draftsman at the Ministry of Works and Housing in Edo State. His versatility and leadership shone brightly when he assumed the role of hotel manager at Chris Hotel in Benin City, where he created an inviting atmosphere for every guest who walked through its doors.

Uncle Dan's life story is a testament to God’s blessing and resiliency. He was a baptized Catholic and is survived by 12 children and 18 siblings, all of whom will miss him dearly. Though he has departed from this world, his memory lives on in every heart

Dear Dad, There are so many questions I wish I had asked and so much I never thought to raise. Parts of you felt distant and unknown, and now that you’re gone, I long for more time to understand your silence, your stories, and your reasons. We shared moments of connection, and for those, I am deeply grateful. I fondly remember when I was a child, and you would return home at night with delicious suya treats, and I would eagerly anticipate your arrival. You also cared deeply about my schoolwork in elementary school, praising my good grades and ensuring I dedicated time to studying. Most of my fondest memories of you were created in those early years. The most bonding times happened when you were solely responsible for us, children, while your wife (our stepmother) attended classes at the University of Lagos. I truly enjoyed your cooking. Best chef ever! Dad, you only spanked me once in my life (a very well-deserved spanking, LOL). You always told me I was beautiful, and you would never let me say any part of my body was imperfect, because, according to you, I look just like you. LOL. Though I carry the ache of what could have been in my later years, I am thankful for what was and for the positive memories you created for me as a child. As an adult with children and a deeper understanding of human nature, I realize life is undeniably complex. I firmly believe you did your best to reconnect and establish a relationship with me in the best way you knew how. I am thankful. In unexpected moments, I feel your presence. I will keep asking the questions and continue to learn from the pieces you left behind. You mattered, even in silence. I honour you and will remember you with hope, wonder, and love. Rest in Peace. :) Nosa

¿Cuál es el momento más divertido que vivieron juntos?

When I was little and we used to have sleepovers at his house and he could walk then and after church we would meet him at Oba market and he would buy stuff for me and my siblings. Grandpa I miss you so much and I love you so much and I know I didn’t get to spend your last days with you but I’m happy I got to come back to Nigeria and see you. I love you forever❤️

‘Uncle Dan’ - exactly what my siblings and I used to call you. As your Niece (Mummy Lagos, Aunty Esohe’s younger daughter), I recall memories of you visiting us in Lagos to see my Mum. I recall memories of a handsome, fair-skinned, bubbly, smiling and jovial young man back in the late 70s-80s. You exuded fun and laughter and I was proud you were my Uncle. Yes a little too young to have much conversation but not too young to appreciate beautiful memories of those fun and happy family visits. I pray you continue to rest peacefully in the bosom of our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ. Sleep well Uncle Dan, sleep well
