Damilola's Friend
Damilola "Dami Mat" Matuluko
1991 - 2024
1991 - 2024
A beacon of kindness and generosity.
Damilola was more than just a friend; she was a light in the lives of everyone who knew her. Her caring nature was evident in every interaction, always ready to lend a hand or offer a comforting word. Humble in her ways, Damilola never sought recognition for her countless acts of generosity, whether it was supporting a friend in need or volunteering her time for a cause she believed in.
Her absence leaves a void that words cannot fill. Memories of her laughter, genuine concern for others, and unwavering positivity will remain etched in our hearts. As we mourn the loss of such a beautiful soul, we also celebrate her incredible impact on us all.
Damilola's legacy of kindness and humility will continue to inspire us, reminding us to live with the same generosity and compassion she embodied. She will be greatly missed, but her spirit will always be with us, guiding us to be better, kinder individuals.
Rest in peace, Dammymat

DammyMat! It hurts so badly as I type this. If there's something Dammy did share, it would be Love. She had a lot to go round. A whole lot! DammyMat loved God. And she would unashamedly talk about it and also act it. If Dammy have ever crossed anyone's lane, I'm very sure they would never forget her. Just like I would never. Heavens indeed gained a beautiful angel. Damilola Matuluko, sun laya Olugbala. Rest well, sis. And keep being happy up there.

This still feels very surreal. Dammy Mat was a great friend with a heart of gold. Her kindness and thoughtfulness was second to none and will never be forgotten. Dammy was such a happy soul spreading love and happiness. Can never forget how she laughs with her eyes looking like they are closing. Words fail me Dammy! You were, and still is so loved by many. You may not be here anymore but you’ll always remain in my heart. I pray God gives your family strength and uphold them in this difficult time.

The past few weeks have been a blur! Damimat!!!! was "that" friend and sister. You loved us all so much. Each moment shared with you was a blessing, filled with joy and a sense of true friendship. You embodied the true meaning of friendship. Your loyalty was unwavering and refreshing and your love for everyone was unconditional. You had a way of seeing the best in people, and you inspired me to be a better person. Dami you loved God so much, you were never shy about it. You shouted His name from the roof top, and Yes God loved you too. Damimat, now you are with Jesus, your King, Your Saviour.......Now you are in a place of rest. Oluwadamilola Matuluko God rest your soul Love you forever ❤️

An incident that frequently comes to mind is how Dami, despite not being close to me in college, noticed my declining grades and approached me out of genuine concern. It was the only time a peer reached out to me about my performance. We had an honest conversation, and she offered to spend time studying with me. She struck me as a very smart, honest, and sincere person who genuinely wanted everyone around her to excel. Our last messages were about meeting up the next time I was in Houston or she was in Dallas, but sadly, that meeting will never happen. I know she's in a better place now. Rest in Peace Dami!!!

Dami was a friend and sister in every sense of the word. She was a beacon of happiness, always radiating joy and positivity. She had a large heart filled with care and compassion. She was such a beautiful soul, and she will be sorely missed. I pray for strength and comfort for her family during this incredibly difficult time. Rest in peace Oremii. You will forever be in our hearts and memories.

I’m not sure I have the right words to describe you Damilola. You lived a life worthy of emulation. You were not a friend to me, you were and would always be my sister. You were a Force, a shining light, a beacon of hope, the very life of the party. Damilola had an infectious zest for life, her laughter was contagious , her smile was always radiant, she had a way of turning every ordinary moment into extraordinary memories. Damilola carried Jesus with her all the way, she loved unconditionally, forgave easily and embraced everyone with open arms. One thing is for sure, you will be greatly missed, but your legacy will continue to remind us of the beautiful and wonderful person you were. Continue to rest in the bosom of the Lord Jesus our very own Dami Mat. I love you. Funmilayo
