23 de agosto de 1948 - 26 de septiembre de 2020
Crystal Kathleen Hazelwood passed away on Saturday, September 26th, 2020. She is at peace and now free to fly around from flower to flower like the butterflies she’s adored her entire life. She had a huge heart and a soft spot for helping those who needed it most. She devoted her life’s work as a therapist to helping others improve their lives and specialized in those with addictions and substance issues. Before that she was a teacher as well as school counselor. She even had a stint of substituting at the local Jr. High her children attended, which she loved because she always wanted to know our friends and be connected with them.
When she wasn’t working, she volunteered with organizations but her favorite was her church community. She specifically loved working with youth camps. It wasn’t uncommon for us to have a stranger at a holiday meal that Mom felt needed to be with us that day.
Crystal is survived by her four children-Bryce Edwards, Charlotte Edwards, April Hazelwood and Holli Hazelwood. As well as her two grandsons-Jagger Hoeft and Kingston Hoeft who meant everything to her. People often told us how much she beamed in pride while sharing about us.
Mom’s faith was unwavering even in the darkest times of her life. She trusted that no matter what, things would work out. One of the last things she said is that it is in God’s hands. “Those who leave everything in God’s hands will eventually see God’s hands in everything.” This quote sums it up Mom’s ability to know God has a part in it all and we just have to surrender and trust. Mom will always be with us, we just need to look for the butterflies as a reminder.

Crystal was my counselor about 20 years ago and I just loved her. I was thinking about her lately and decided to look her up on the internet. I'm so sorry she passed 5 years ago. I know she is at peace now and I will think of her when I see butterflies.

What a wonderful tribute to your mom, April. You have been a loving and caring daughter to her when she needed you. I love the image of your mom with the butterflies.
