31 de octubre de 1957 - 31 de enero de 2022
UPDATE: The celebration of life was a great sucess, thanks to everyone who attended and everyone who was there in spirit.
Christopher Walters of Edmonton, Alberta passed away on January 31st, 2022, after a valiant fight with ALS. He left this life on his own terms, with dignity and peacefulness, surrounded by his closest loved ones. He is survived by his spouse Sandra Green; their children Ray and Jacquie; his mother Angela; siblings Malcolm, Collette, and Paul; brothers and sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews.
Chris was born on October 31st, 1957, to Angela and Doug Walters in Neath, Wales, and grew up in Port Talbot. He immigrated to Canada with his family at the age of 19 and completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Alberta. Afterwards, he completed an AACI (Accredited Appraiser Canadian Institute) and worked as a commercial real estate appraiser. He and Sandra met in 1987 and married in 1994. Their children were born in 1995 and 2000. An extraordinarily gracious man with the heart of a poet, Chris had a very well-developed aesthetic and took joy in the beauty and talent of architects, musicians, painters, and all manner of artists. He loved attending concerts and saw all the greats, which in his estimation, included: Yes, Queen, Paul McCartney, Mark Knopfler, etc. He had a keen interest in audio technology and was always searching for the perfect sound. A diehard Manchester United supporter through good and bad, Chris shared his fanaticism with his brother Paul.
He was exceptionally proud of his two children and took every opportunity to tell them how smart, talented, creative, and courageous they are. He was unwavering in his love for them and his best friend and life partner Sandra, who enjoyed his constant admiration and support.
He leaves us much too early, but his example and love will carry us throughout our lives.
A celebration of life will be held July 8, 2022, from 6:00 to 8:30 pm, at 6404 145A Street, Edmonton, Alberta.

I’m so sorry to hear of Chris’s passing. Condolences to the entire family. I was very close with the Walters family as I dated Paul from 1986 to 1989. Sending thoughts and prayers to the family.

Chris was a colleague for many years, and I had the pleasure of working with him in the Edmonton office from 2011 until his retirement. We often talked about our families and we shared an interest in fine cars. One of my fondest memories was enjoying lunch with Chris on a patio on 104 Street, shortly before his retirement, and car watching - as there were often many summer sports cars along 104, especially on a sunny Friday afternoon. I have shared a photo from one of the celebrations in the office. We often had cake or cupcakes to celebrate colleagues birthdays or work anniversaries, however Chris never did share those dates with anyone in the Edmonton office. One year we decided to surprise Chris with a Royal Tea to celebrate him. It was great to see his wonderful smile. My prayers and condolences to his family and friends.

Chris was one of my closest cousins, always had a smile and warm greeting for everyone, we were close in Wales always called in to see him on the way to the beach. We did get together in Canada but unfortunately not enough! . All my love and thoughts to his family.. Chris was a great friend and cousin, but he did have one flaw ! He supported that ….United … God bless you Chris

I was a childhood neighbour of the Walters. Chris was my age. We used to play together in Dylan Crescent, where we were brought up. I remember to this day taking some money out of my mother's purse and Chris and I bought a loaf of bread off the mobile baker. We sat on the doorstep and ate it all!! We were about six years old ! Happy memories. Rest in peace Chris.x
