Flowers & Donations
You may know that our dad was diagnosed with mesothelioma, a type of lung cancer caused by asbestos. We ask his friends not to send flowers, but we instead would encourage you to make a donation to either of the charities below:
Hampshire Asbestos Support & Awareness Group (HASAG)
HASAG was very helpful to dad when he first received his diagnosis early this year. Dad had no particular risk of exposure to asbestos, and yet he still was affected. Asbestos is still around in countless non-obvious situations and so sadly we believe HASAG's support may continue to be valuable to unfortunate individuals for years to come.
St Chistopher's Hospice
St Christopher's provided moral and practical support to dad as he lived with the lung cancer over the last few months. They also offered help to his family and continue to do so even now.

I was on the Croydon Aviva Fellowship Committee with Chris for may years. He was always enthusiastic and great fun. We enjoyed many outings together. I particularly remember the holiday in Rouen and going to Alexander Palace to research more outings. He will be sadly missed.
Tracey & Ivor Gordon
Chris was a dear neighbour to Ivor & I for around 20 years . Always cheerful , helpful , friendly and ready for a chat . He even used to keep the woodland path (at the back of our gardens) leading to the Aerodrome clear for my friends & I to go walking. I’m sure he gave a few people a fright walking through the woods with his scythe . . Chris was well informed on so many subjects and used to love discussing music with Ivor , especially Jazz . We shall miss him . Tracey & Ivor

And when we met Robin Hood.
David James

Five CU pensioners, Chris, Rodney Tapp, Derek Lowe, John Gover and David James used to meet for lunch a couple of times a year. We also had days out to places like steam railways and the Historic Dockyards. I’ve gathered some photos of Chris at such events - here’s the five of us at our lunch in Warlingham

Chris and I have visited many interesting places together with AGTO as he’s researched places to take his group to. Here he is sunny Nottingham with Sue. 2019 I think.
