Charles C. Lund, II

I don't know where to begin. Charlie was such an exceptional person in so many ways: as an athlete, student, scholar, educator, husband and father. At our best in any one of those endeavors we fall short of Charlie's example. But I would like instead to comment on something that permeated everything he did. Charlie was the most gracious man I have ever known. Being gracious requires a sense of selflessness, generosity few can muster. He was, as Louisa said, a lovely man. His death has caused me to reevaluate my own life and seek to improve. I was lucky to have known him.
