27 de marzo de 1983 - 29 de marzo de 2020
Gone too soon but always remembered and beloved.
Brook Aaron Fallon-Zorn passed away in San Francisco on March 29, 2020, just 2 days after his 37th birthday. His death was due to a drug overdose, which followed several years of substance and mental health challenges. The family shares this with honesty in hopes it will help remove the stigma of these kinds of issues which are too prevalent in our society, and to hopefully motivate someone also struggling to get help without embarrassment. Brook is survived by his mother, Mimi Zorn Zwart, Step-father Larry Zwart, Aunt Lisa Zorn, Brother Devon Swift, Sister-in-law Gaby Swift, Step-Niece Citlali Esparza, Step-Nephew Gabriel Esparza, Nephew Enzo Swift, Sister Melody Fallon and Aunt Lisa Zorn.
Brook was born on March 27, 1983 in Glendale, California. He was an active little boy who very early on fell in love with sports, playing Little League baseball for many years. He was curious and energetic as a boy and kept his family on their toes! He was raised many years by his mother alone, with an 8 year period in which step-father Jack Swift was part of his life. After their divorce, Brook formed a strong bond with family friend Doug Scheer, who, in addition to mom Mimi, helped inspire his love for cooking. He would later primarily work in the restaurant business as a prep cook and cook. Brook also adopted the family tradition for being an avid fan of the SF 49ers and after moving to the Bay Area with the family in 1989, also become a fan of the Oakland A's baseball team, SF Giants and Golden State Warriors basketball. He even got tattoos on his arms that spelled out "Bay Area" in honor of his love for his sports teams!
We will always remember Brook as a kind and caring person who loved his family and friends. He will be missed by many. Rest in Peace.

Today marks 2 years since you left us. My heart is permanently broken and I think of you every day. It still hurts that chose the path you did, and I often think of "what if" you had made different choices. But these were beyond my control and now I will just try to treasure the memories of the good times. I will always love you. Love, Mom

Brook, what can I say, how can I speak with a broken heart? You were my first born child. You opened up a new world for me that I never realized would be so fulfilling and joyful, yet so heartbreaking and terrifying at the same time. Never had I known before you came into my life how immeasurable love for one's child can be. It is not natural for a child to leave this world before their mother. I must try to carry on with a piece of me gone with you, for you were indeed a part of me, from my very DNA and my body, as well as my heart. Rest now in peace, my son. There is a hole in this world where you once were and we will honor that space for you forever with love. Love you always and forever, Mom

Brook has alway held such a special place in my heart ever since I was a little kid. I did not have many cousins and none that lived close by except for Brook and Sean and I am so grateful to have grown up with them both. Brook is my family and I have so many happy memories of spending time with him at Uncle Doug’s and Aunt Diana’s. I always enjoyed being around him and much like my Uncle Doug, Brook had this amazing way of making you feel welcome and special and cared for (not to mention well fed!) He had one of the biggest warmest hearts I’ve ever encountered. I will never forget his smile and his hugs. Like many of us, Brook had his ups and downs but even in his darker times I knew who he was and knew his true character. I will always grieve the loss of such a beautiful soul. I am so grateful that Brook was a part of my life. I love and miss him deeply.

Brooks, I love you Dogg and miss you deeply!! Thank you for looking out for me and trying to show me the way out there in the streets. It's rough out there, I'm sorry I fell short in my active addiction in many respects as a friend. I'm sure you understand. I think about you lost everyday and will never forget you bro! I found GOD man, it's unbelievable and I'm sure you found him up there too. It's hard out here for me right now, but 25 days today CLEAN and SOBER! It's HELL on earth but I'm going to make it homie..you and your family are in my prayers, especially your mother...GOD knows what I have put mine through. I'll see you on the he other side Dogg, nothing but good memories, smiles, peace and serenity! Until them..one brother!! ❤️

I hope you’re finally in a place where you have peace and are no longer suffering from the pain that this world can bring. Loved you like a son...there really are no words.

Growing up, Brook was a main member of our gang. I remember spending everyday at the Scheer house as a teen with Brook, Kory, Cat, Nate and Sean. Diana and Doug were saints for housing our crew everyday. Brook loved to cook and I remember how great it was being part of his group of friends growing up. My heart is very sad for his family and close friends. I wish there had been a happier ending for Brook. I’m sad that we’ll never be able to catch up and talk about being crazy kids.
