If there's anyone I truly love in this world, it's my Mum. If I've to use words to describe what she is like, she's loving, kind, gentle, caring, compassionate and very very wise. Loving was probably her best quality. I will never forget how she used to wait outside the comic book shop in the car, waiting for me to buy my comics when I was in high school. Or how she would always take my brother and I to 1Utama almost every weekend to eat her fav Pepper Lunch. Or how she will always give my brother and I money on our bdays, eventhough when we say no to it. I love you, Mum, the most.

Posting on behalf of the Chang Rowland Family, Barbara's cousins: On behalf of the Chang Rowland Sydney clan families, I convey my siblings namely Helena, David, Susan, Patricia, Diana and Glynis's thoughts memories of our dear cousin Barbara. Whilst most of us had not seen Barbara for many years she has always remained an important part of our wonderful childhood growing up in Malaysia with the rest of the Rowland & Gomis clan. We will never forget her smile and will always admire the way she carried herself with quiet dignity even as a child. Her modesty was endearing. My personal reconnection with Barbara, after being away in Australia for 53 yrs, occurred in 2018 when I met up with her, Percy, Christine, Kathy, Uncle and Aunty at Aunty Myrtle / Corrine's house for my Reunion makan with them. She impressed me for her warmth, kindness & motherhood caring qualities in the presence of her sons Reuben and Shannon. Barbara indeed encompassed the Rowlands humanitarian DNA of generosity and charitable characteristics. We are so saddened by her loss and are thinking of Uncle Wilson, Aunty Charlotte, Percy, Cathy, Christine and their families, especially her husband Daniel and sons Reuben and Shannon during this difficult period. May eternal rest be granted onto you our darling cousin Barbara. May God's light shine upon you and may your soul rest in eternal peace in the arms of the Angels and our beloved Mother Doris Rowland. All our best wishes The Chang's

Posting on behalf of Sharon Chelvi Moorthy, a family friend: I remember her as one of the sweetest, most loving girls back in my youth days at Grace PJ, someone who always made sure that awkward ones like me felt at home... much much love and hugs 😢❤️🙏🏽

Posting on behalf of Jim KOW CHEE MENG, Barbara's OCBC colleague and friend: Barbara Rowland, a name old friends and colleagues would have fond memories. She was one of my colleagues who reported to me during our early careers in OCBC in the 80s. She was a wonderfully lady and colleague to have. She was punctual to work, easy to teach, very responsible and reliable colleague. In Oct last year, we shared our fond memories including the time the bank was robbed and gun shot was triggered. I am sure all her employers would have been blessed just having her. As a cancer survivor myself, my wife, Annie Chai and I saw her through. She did what you could and fought a good fight. In the end God loves Barbara more. Loving Barbara was easy. May God continues to bless Barbara Rowland till eternity. Amen.

Posting on behalf of Loo Lei Seong, Barbara's best friend of 44 years: "I will always remember Barbara as a shy and humble girl but she used her strength whenever the need arose to help in solving problems and helping others. It goes without saying that she was always a good listener and a person of integrity. She knew what was right and what was wrong and she kept her principles, but in a way that was understanding of others. She was strong in faith and endured with patience all difficulties she faced in her life. Now she is at rest. To Barbara, I would like to say that it was a tremendous blessing and great pleasure in having you as my best friend for 44 years. To Barbara's family, I pray for you to have patience and to continue to pray and cherish her in your hearts. Until we meet again dear Barbara, may you Rest in Peace."
