Arlene Rathjen

My Mom, Arlene Rathjen, died at the age of 91 from Covid. She was spunky, outspoken and had a lot of life to live if not for this virus. She had many jobs in her lifetime beginning with Maas and Walstein in Belleville NJ. She also worked at Sterns in Wayne NJ, Franklin School in Kearny NJ, Ben Franklin in Kearny NJ and for 7 years she ran Village Antiques with her daughter in Bloomfield NJ. My Mom was a longtime NY JETS fanatic she couldn't wait until football season. Her favorite place to vacation was Cape Cod Mass, Smugglers Beach Motel. Mom was also a big animal lover, our home was always full of pets, dogs cats and anything else that needed a home. Arlene was married to her Husband Fred for 62 years until he passed in 2009..Surviving is her daughter Barbara. son in law Jim and grand daughter Candice.. Her son Robert (Ricky) passed in 2006 from brain cancer. I love you Mom and miss you. I still pick up the phone to call you.....
