Anthony G Vigil

On June 7th, 2024, Anthony Vigil, loving husband, father, grandfather, son and brother passed away at the age of 63. He was surrounded by all of his loving family while visiting Portales, New Mexico.

Anthony was born in Taos, New Mexico to Amadeo and Amada Vigil. He grew up in Taos and was a resident of Arroyo Seco. Anthony was a graduate of Taos High School, he then went on to pursue his passion as a mechanic. He mastered his craft while working at Zeke’s Auto Supply and then later accepted a job as a diesel mechanic at Taos Ski Valley. He would later retire from the Ski Valley in 2022 amassing 40 years with the company. In 1980 Anthony married his beloved wife, Hilda. They had a beautiful ceremony in Arroyo Seco where they raised their family. Over the next 43 years, they raised two children, Anthony and Victoria. Anthony became a fun-loving grandfather to Antonio, Gabriella, and David. Anthony had a passion for mechanics.  He loved working on vehicles in his garage. He was always there to lend a helping hand, putting the needs of others ahead of his own.

Anthony was preceded in death by his father Amadeo Vigil, brother Mark Vigil, aunt Faby Trujillo, niece Valerie Sanchez, nephew Max Sanchez and in-laws Maximino & Eliza Martinez. He is survived by his wife Hilda, son Anthony (Ami), daughter Victoria (David), grandkids Antonio, Gabriella and David, Mother Amada Vigil, brother Lawrence Vigil (Michelle) and many uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends. 

Rosary will be recited on Friday, July 12, 2024, at 6 PM at Holy Trinity Parish in Arroyo Seco. Funeral mass will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at 12 PM at Holy Trinity Parish.
