Recuerdos

Annie Jose is the beloved wife of C.V. Jose, and the dearest mother of Divya, Santosh & Neha, and loving grandmother of Ruth. She lived her life to the fullest in the 56 years she had on earth. She embraced the people that came her way in her own special way. Everyone was made to feel special, and she made time for so many people. The source of her strength and grace was the Lord Jesus Christ, in whom she put her faith while studying for her nursing in Mumbai in the late 1980s. From welcoming people in their home and leading cell groups in Mumbai and Vizag, Jose and Annie eventually planted a church in Secunderabad in the early 2000s. A countless number of people have been mentored and blessed by their pastoral ministry of over 20 years.   Annie also worked as the principal of Eashwari Bai Memorial School of Nursing for 11 years, and was loved dearly by her students and fellow teachers and the management. She has left in her wake a legacy of nursing professionals who are caring for patients far and wide.

Most of all, Annie will be remembered for the great love she showered on people. She had a special heart for children, and she had a unique way of conveying love in a language they understood. She loved her family and her extended family, and she will be dearly missed. For all of us who miss her greatly, one way we can honour her is to remember her and her ways and imitate her, as she imitated Christ.

It’s been a year you left us Annie Didi, but your memories and the legacy you had left is still new. We as a family still feel you are with us. Thank you so much for teaching us how to lead a spiritual life. We are so thankful to the Lord that you had helped Kundanika in accepting Jesus Christ as her personal saviour. We believe that you are worshipping along with the Lord. Miss you Annie Didi. Sarat, Aruna and Kundanika

"Aunty Annie Jose – A Life so well lived! 17 years ago, we were 5 train wreck boys, unruly and untouchables. We knew no boundaries for fun and excitement. That’s when we met Aunty Annie. She would unashamedly take part in all that we did and laugh along. In this process, she mothered us like her own. She cared for, fed, called, texted, disciplined, encouraged, prayed with & for, and loved deeply. Not sure if we would have survived Uncle Jose’s wrath without you during our formative years. Thanks for being that motherly shield.

Annie akka, You kept your faith till the end, you enjoyed life despite of a chronic illness and it's limitations. You rejected the lies of the enemy continually and stood on the promises of God. Your fun loving nature kept everyone around you engaged and at ease. You always encouraged everyone and at all times. You kept yourself busy hearing to people, talking to them ,interacting with the needy ,trying to go out of your way to help them. You are the woman I admire. You made your home such sweet place. You are a lovable wife. A sweet mother. A perfect pastor's wife. I have seen many women in leadership, you surpass them all. Your love for kids, the way you deal with each one. You could relate with all age groups with ease and charm. You are beautiful in every way.. I don't think I will ever meet a woman as elegant ,gentle and kind as you are.. How could you be so much to so many of us. I saw your life closely. You were always hungry for more of Jesus. You sought for Him at all places at all times. Your smile, your lively sweet voice, your naughtiness, your openness, your love, your kindness, your heart for those who are suffering..... You are once in a 100 yrs woman. Surely, your sickness, only brought out the best in you. It has showed us how we to face a storm , it appeared to us that you were having a great ride on those rough waters. You danced, you made everyone dance. You lived life to fullest. But akka, I only miss you. What great loss it is to us this side until we meet you again. You were always there to hear, to appreciate, to encourage, to pray, to share, to write back to me. I have lost a great sister and friend. I will cherish every memory. Love you so much. I miss talking and chatting with you. Yours Vennela

It was wonderful knowing Annie for so many years. I have some fun memories from the time when Anne was studying in SNDT, College of Nursing in Mumbai and I was studying at Bombay Hospital. We would travel together for “house group meetings” every week to Cathedral school. Since we both had to reach our respective hostels before 8pm, we would start running from Cathedral school to our hostels just reach in time

Aunty Annie was a person who cared for me. She always gave me delicious custard and other food items. I will miss her dearly, and I regret not meeting her that often. But, I will always remember you Aunty Annie, rest in peace. P.S I’m sure you’re enjoying in Heaven with your Heavenly Father.

I call this eulogy “ I wonder who will be that one to me” Yesterday when I was surfing through my Instagram posts, wanting to see all the places where I have left a comment on someone else’s post or comments others made on my post. I realised that the most replies and comments that I found were all from Annie aunty to me. Its like aunty commenting or appreciating something that I posted and me responding to her. Now she is gone home far away! I wonder who will comment on my post every-time from now! I want to share only one thing that made Annie aunty uniquely special to me. Nobody knows this! Not even Rebecca! Aunty was the only person that I have ever known who knew my innermost fears! Yes, it was only with auntie Annie, I used to share my innermost fears. And she was so good at helping me overcome it every single time. Now that she has gone home, I wonder who can be that person to me! Every time I preached in the church, from the day one, aunty always would come to me and tell me how it was a blessing to her, what was her take on the topic and she would encourage me without fail. Aunty always appreciated every aspect of the sharing , right from the topic to even the slides. This made me do better every time I prepared for a sermon. Now that she has gone home far away, I wonder who will do that for me! Dear aunty, It’s been a week since you left us to be with your Heavenly Father. I know you have crossed that river and found the peace and joy that He promised. I want to thank God for your life that exemplified Christ in every way! Your strength even when you were physically weak is something I always knew, it’s from the Lord your God! You will be missed so dearly aunty! Even though you have gone far away from us, I shall live in Comfort in knowing that we shall meet again on the other side! Until then, Farewell to you!
