Angela's Petit-fils
Angela Serritella
21 mars 1926 - 2 janvier 2021
21 mars 1926 - 2 janvier 2021
On January 2, 2021 our mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother Angela Serritella was called home to join her husband, Carmen who preceded her in 1974. She joins many family members and countless friends who have gone home before her … she would have been 95 on March 21st.
While we mourn her loss, Angela was looking forward to going home to be with her Lord as her work here on earth was done.
Her journey through life is legendary. Angela married Carmen on October 21st 1946 in Chicago, IL, celebrating their reception at the Lions Club. Shortly after, they left Chicago and came to California for their honeymoon. They stayed in the Golden State where they raised 2 daughters and built a successful nationwide business and a beautiful life together.
She made a name for herself in the garment industry by co-creating Figurettes, Inc. in 1967. She became well-known for creating the spiral bra and marabou lingerie items for Frederick’s of Hollywood. Her business brought her to all 50 states and to places few civilians were allowed – Cheyenne Mountain Air Force Station. She was passionate about working with women who had suffered thru breast cancer and who had specialty needs. Angela felt it was her calling to help women feel confident and beautiful…a calling she fulfilled until her retirement at 75. She by no means slowed down during her retirement – her love of traveling brought her abroad on several trips with her friends and she would often say that her trip to Israel would always be her most cherished.
Her love for people and helping them create their own business is still evident today by the friends she leaves behind.
Angela will be dearly missed by her family and friends who will be ever thankful to have known and loved such a special and beautiful person.
She leaves behind daughters Lu and Fran; son-in-law Stan; grandkids Angela, Christopher, Lisa, Michael, Stephen, and Stacie; great-grandkids Michael Jacob, Joshua, Briseis, and Nicholas.

Angela was a remarkable woman, and I feel very grateful to have known her. I worked for her in the 1970s, beginning when I was a teenager—it was my very first job. She gave me opportunities far beyond my years, trusting me with photography for her catalogs and having me travel with her for work. As a young kid, I was incredibly impressed by her confidence, kindness, and leadership, and those impressions stayed with me throughout my life. I still have a large box of photographs I took of Angela and for her catalogs, along with many fond memories from that time. She was generous, encouraging, and truly wonderful to work for. Angela made a lasting impact on me, and I will always remember her with admiration and gratitude. She was an amazing lady. If any of the family would ever like to hear more stories or see photographs from those years, I would be happy to share. I believe the picture above is one that I took. I will always remember her. -Don

I remember Angela very well since her daughter, Lucille, and I became friends in 1969. I remember spending time at her home in Rosemead. She was a wonderful lady!
