Souvenirs

The Beautiful Life of Ang Kusang Sherpa Ang Kusang was born in Tapting village, Solukhumbu district, Nepal (the foothill of Mt. Himalaya) and spent his childhood and teenage there. In his early twenties, he worked as a trekking guide and expanded his horizon to know more about the world through his overseas customers. The seed of Christian faith had grown in his heart since then. He converted to Christ in late 1990's, baptized at Areopagus Congregation in Nepal in 2002 & migrated to HK after marrying me in 2003. We have two daughters, Gurans and Jyoti. Ang Kusang had tried hard to adapt to the new life in HK. He worked as a car accessories sales for a few years and then worked as a legal clerk in a law firm later on. He was well received by his colleagues and showed his strong sense of responsibility at workplace. He liked to meet new friends, visit new places and learnt new things. Also, he was eager to upgrade himself academically. He got the Bachelor of Ministry at Theological Education for Filipino Leaders, Hong Kong Baptist Theological Seminar in 2017 and start pursuing MA in Organization Leadership at Development Associates International partnered with Nepal Ebenezer Bible College that year. This was indeed a miracle for him, as he had only studied few years in village school in his hometown. His persistent was well observed. Since 2008, Ang Kusang had started to serve fellow Nepalese for our Lord Jesus Christ in ways including selling Nepali Bibles, going for mission trips to Macau, conducting relief work for 2015 Nepal quake victims, sharing in churches in Nepal, and at last setting up Bless Nepalese ministry in HK with our family friend, Wyman Tang, & me in 2017. Ang Kusang had tried his best to be a good husband. He was willing to spend time with us in weekends, helped out house chores whenever he was at home, and always held my hands no matter where we went. He was also a good father-never hit his daughters, always kind to them even when they were naughty, and always made fun with them. He gave us a lot of warm and loving memories. We miss his big smiles and big hugs. But definitely we will meet again in the heaven one day. We will smile at each other and hug again. The Incident in Kunming, China Ang Kusang is now rest in peace with our Lord Jesus Christ in the heaven. That is a place where there is no fear, no tears, no sorrows. When he was on earth, he had tried his best to live a meaningful life in God's love. About the incident, he arrived Kunming on 10 March, a place to transit to Nepal the next day. He finished his dinner, with a few cups of wine, and then collapsed on the street in the midnight, without being noticed until the next morning. As in this province of China, if the case doesn't involve crimes, the police will not go through anatomy, hence, no conclusion on the cause of death. Based on different evidences, including different video clips from CCTV at different places, Ang Kusang didn't encounter any harm from anybody. No robbery nor any crime happened on him. Wild guesses on his cause of death is not necessary, and we hope that Ang Kusang could be respected. The Struggles in His Life There was one thing that Ang Kusang struggled a lot in his life since teenage. The drinking habit first brought him relief from the stresses and disappointments of life. Since he seriously studied God's Word, however, he learnt that getting drunk was in fact a sin. To be unchained from this devil's temptation was not easy though. It's a years-long habit and it's a spiritual warfare indeed. By God's grace, through praying, studying Bible and building a closer relationship with God, he finally quit alcohol since 2017. That was also the time God had brought him to the next level of servanthood. God's Precious Child Ang Kusang, like each one of us, is a precious child in God's eyes. Though he would make mistakes and had weaknesses, but God still accepted him of who he was. He even used him, a sinner, to serve Him. In the past two years, I witnessed how God used Ang Kusang and walked with him through our Christian ministry Bless Nepalese. I can see that God used him because he was willing to confess his sin in drunkenness, and he had tried his best to resist alcohol everyday with the mercy of God. Real Christian life is always filled with struggles and temptations, but God's grace is enough for us to move on. His love and forgiveness are always with us. Ang Kusang's pure heart to rely on God pleased Him. In fact, He kept transforming him in the past years, to be a better person day by day. I believed that Ang Kusang encountered the temptation of devil again in Kunming, and God determined to unchain him by bringing him back to the heavenly home. He is now living with the Lord joyfully, forever & ever. (Written by Priscilla, Ang Kusang's wife)

Remembered with Love, Uncle Ang Kusang When we think of Ang Kusang, we can almost hear his bright, cheery, infectious smile. Ang Kusang is a kind-hearted, earnest and faithful brother-in-Christ and servant of the Lord. At family gatherings, he may appear to be more soft-spoken but if you initiate a conversation with him, you will be charmed off your chair by his humour and wits. Ang Kusang is the embodiment of being fearless and adventurous. During the one-month-old celebration of our daughter, someone noticed a mouse under the table! While others screamed or hopped onto chairs, Ang Kusang boldly disappeared under the tables. He single-handedly won the mouse-vs-human battle, and we all could breathe again when he re-emerged victoriously with a triumphant grin. There was another time we had a family gathering outdoors, the kids accidentally kicked a ball atop a tall tree. Just as the disappointment sunk in and all hope seemed to be lost, Ang Kusang swiftly climbed up the tree and got the ball back! We were in awe! Although Ang Kusang was called home suddenly and unexpectedly, we believe he is in the warm embrace of our heavenly Father. Ang Kusang, we will see you again in Heaven. Yuen's Family

What an honor and privilege to serve with Brother Ang Kusang as he reached out to the Nepalese community here in Macau. I, along with Hope Clinic, supported this ministry, knowing the increasing number of Nepalese patients we were seeing in our clinic and the need for these individuals to experience the love of Christ. Hope Clinic partnered with Brother Ang in hosting some outreach events, including one in April 2016 in which a US volunteer team joined, along with Band Brothers from HK. We will greatly miss Brother Ang's smile & joy to see others know Jesus. Our prayer is that the Nepalese Outreach Brother Ang began in Macau will continue and that we too will be faithful to share God's love to the Nepalese community here in Macau just as Brother Ang did. On behalf of Hope Clinic, our condolences, love and support to Priscilla, Gurans and Jyoti.
