Amber Nicole Jones unexpectedly passed away on Wednesday, November 16th at the age of 32 from cardiac arrest. We are all shocked and devastated by this loss. Am-Bam was born on a sunny day in San Diego, CA to Suzanne Kaplin-Jones and Charles Jones. She joined this world just ten minutes before her twin sister Tisha Jones. After a few early years soaking up the sun on the beaches of Southern California, her family moved to Bozeman Montana, her true home. Her parents’ roots in Bozeman brought the family back where Amber grew to love Montana. She loved the cold weather and always had a hoodie or two that you could borrow.
Amber (with Tisha always close by) made lifelong friends at Irving Elementary, CJMS and Bozeman High. That close-knit group remains friends to this day, a bit geographically scattered now, but still close at heart. We have received so much love and support from these friends. She was a natural athlete and formed countless friendships in basketball, volleyball, cheerleading and her favorite, soccer.
Amber attended Montana State University and the University of Montana before moving to Los Angeles to pursue new adventures with her sister Tisha. She found a career that she loved in L.A. with FabFitFun and spent the last 4 years forming amazing friendships and contributing to a company she loved. She especially loved working with the “Creative Group”. They were all very thoughtful and supportive during our time at the hospital.
Amber worked hard and played harder. She wasn’t big on sleep… you can’t finish a 2000-piece puzzle with your eyes closed. Amber loved unconditionally and she never took the people in her life for granted. She never came empty-handed and never hesitated to help - no matter the size of the job at hand. Her smile was so beautiful and her laugh so contagious.
Her love of life was unmistakable and she took chances, more than some would’ve liked at times. Her snowboard gave her great joy… She loved a good steak, made crispy for both her and Dad. And don’t forget the bacon, also extra crispy. Motorcycle rides with Cory set her free – in the mountains, along the river, really riding anywhere with Cory made her happy. Camping trips every year were a must. Freezing in June with frost covered camp chairs, fiercely striking flint and steel to compete for first fire. Her inner Mountain Woman was strong.
Those of us who shared her life and her memories are many. In the last few years, Cory came into her world and she knew that he was her forever person. She was living her best life – spending time with Cory in Bozeman and working as a producer in L.A. She lived fully and made her impact on all of us. A full lifetime’s worth. “The best Auntie, Suzanne’s Favorite, Twin #1, The Dog Whisperer (despite her allergies), The Dopest Chick”.
Family was one of Amber’s greatest passions, and she certainly had a lot. Her countless friends here in Montana and scattered throughout San Diego and L.A. all hold Amber dearly in their hearts. Four generations worth of family, mostly all right here in Bozeman: Grandma Hance, parents Suzanne & Charles, siblings Latisha, Alyson & Jessica, favorite brother in-law Kyle, her partner Cory, aunts & uncles Stevie & Chrissy, Jerry & Birgit, Patti, cousins Shelby & Joe (Jack), Andrew, Nina, nieces and nephews Aurora, Ben & Emma, the Hance crew, Delmar, Curtis, Raymond and the rest of the Jones crew.
In lieu of flowers or donations, Amber would have preferred that you go out back and plant a fresh snow angel for her. She left the world as generously as she lived by donating her organs. Amber loved a good party, so instead of a memorial, there will be a celebration in May fitting of her life and her spirit - filled with music, games, laughter, good food and drink.
