First and foremost I want to send my deepest condolences to Auntie Emelia, Awoye, Emefa, & Edem. I can not imagine the pain you are going through. I always remember Dr. Timpo as a cool, calm, and collected man. Never talked much and but when he did, he had a sothing and calming demeanor about him and was jovial and funny at times. I remember a long time ago when, when I was a pre-teenager, I had a doctors appointment for one of my routine checkup and immunization shots at the RCHP Garden State Medical Group and I remember being so nervous, as I always was whenever I had to take a shot. Anyway after taking my vital signs, the Nurse indicated she will be back later to give me my shot and that in the meantime, the Doctor will be in to see me soon. As I was nervously waiting, guess who walked in? Yep...you guessed it. It was Dr. Timpo and I remember having this bewildered look on my face, saying to myself "Wait a minute...I know this guy." As if he knew exactly what I was thinking, he then said, in his broken Twi of course, "Joey...Wu hun ti sen". This definitely confirmed my suspicion because first of all, only family members, relatives and close family friends called me by that name and secondly he spoke in Twi. My response was something like, "Hi Uncle (that's what I called him since he was a close family friend)...what are you doing here?" You see he happened to be belong a the group of Pediatrician's who took care of me and I didn't even know it. Anyway with his cool, calm and collected voice, He assured me everything will be fine. He even kept cracking jokes here and there even after he was done with his examination. In fact I don't even remember when the nurse had later slipped in and administered the shot. Another fond memory I had of Uncle was that he was pretty good competitor. In my late teenage years in (16/17yrs) I remember the one time my Dad, Dr. Timpo and another one of my Dads friends went out one early weekend morning to play tennis. At one point I was playing against Dr. Timpo and I remember thinking I was going to destroy this Ole Man. You see I used to play tennis at that time for my High School JV doubles team so I felt confident and cocky that Uncle was no match for me...or so I thought. Boy was I wrong..I tell you, this man can play! Like the saying goes, never judge a book by its cover. Anyway, Uncle, on behalf of my brothers Francis, Kwame, Steven, and I, we miss you, and thank you for all your contributions in touching so many lives in one way or another. May you rest in peace. To the Timpo family , especially Auntie Emelia, Awoye, Emefa, & Edem, may the LORD comfort you as you grief through this very difficult time. May the GOD grant you peace assure you that your Husband and Father is resting comfortably in the presence of the ALMIGHTY FATHER.
