Who Is Alaba Oduntan?

Alaba Olusegun Oduntan was born on 22 August 1965 In Lagos, Nigeriato the family of Balogun Abel Olugbolade Oduntan and Mrs Dorcas Abiodun Oduntan hailing from Oke Orendun Ijebu, Ogun state. He later moved to the United Kingdom. 

A father to two sons and a daughter. And a grandfather to three beautiful granddaughters all of whom he loved very much.  

Education

He started his primary education in Yewande Memorial Nursery School, Surulere. He went on to secondary school in Government College Eric Moore, Lagos and then proceeded to A Levels in Igbobi College Yaba, Lagos. He also took a BA degree in Lagos State University (LASU) Ojo. Finally completing a course in the College of North East London – clearly Alaba was a man who had a constant hunger for learning.

Career Goals 

He then pursued a political career firstly, contesting for Federal House of Representatives under the National Republican Convention (NRC) Party for Surulere local government in 1992. He went on to join the Lagos State Football Association between 1993 – 1995. He worked as a Sales Manager in Yinka Folawiyo Group and moved onto become an Executive Director of BUM BAMS. Lastly, he opened a financial services company Aljay Ventures in London.

United Kingdom

Alaba decided to move to the United Kingdom in 2004. It’s at this point he suffered a kidney failure, from then he had a constant battle with his health but continuously came out on top. 

Hobbies and Interests

A firm and fervent lover of football including his two beloved teams Stationery Stores Football Club and Chelsea FC. Alongside football, music was another passion of his, all genres including afrobeats, high life and reggae – enjoying artistes such as Fela Kuti, King Sunny Ade and Yellow man.

It’ll be hard not to mention his interest in Politics and Current Affairs, he was very well informed and if given chance could talk for hours on related topics.

Alaba was a lover of people and very proud Ijebu man.

Alabama, Jogojogo, Super, Flaming! As he like to be called was a fun-loving man, he loved the high life and was always the life and soul of the party. He continuously brought good vibes with him wherever he went and managed to put a smile on people faces – regardless of the situation – a true lover of people.
