July 6th, 2007 - January 22nd, 2026
A beautiful soul leaves a trail of kindness wherever it goes...
On January 22nd, 2026, Abigail Jamie Durnin, or Abby as her family called her, found everlasting peace after a lengthy and courageous battle with severe depression.
Born in Brooklyn, New York, on July 6, 2007, to parents Mary Fu and Jason Durnin, Abigail was a joyous and curious young girl, full of wonder and warmth, and a seemingly endless fountain of questions. She loved animals and was especially fond of horses, her two pet rats (Finch and Margay), her mother’s family dog (Marley), and her father’s family cats (Luke and Obi). She was a senior at Vista Ridge High School, where her younger sister, Audrey, is a junior.
Abigail’s insatiable curiosity made her a star academic who excelled in her classes, with a particular interest in human biology. She was a voracious reader who loved fantasy and science fiction, at times reading 1-2 books a week. But when it came to storytelling, Abby herself was an imaginative, award-winning writer, whose essay on Dear Evan Hansen took 3rd place in the Letter in Literature state competition. She was also a capable artist who loved to draw dragons, enjoyed playing video games, and watching her favorite show, The Amazing Race.
Abigail’s life is joyfully celebrated by her mother and stepfather, Mary Fu and Shane Bzdok, her father and stepmother, Jason Durnin and Nidia Durnin, and her sister, Audrey Durnin. She will be forever loved by her large extended family of grandparents, uncles, aunts, and cousins. Her family will miss her calming presence, the warmth of her words and her exceptionally loving hugs.
Services will be held on February 7, 2026, at 2:00 PM, at Beck’s Funeral Home located at 1700 E Whitestone Blvd, Cedar Park, TX 78613.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the memorial fund set up in her name under the American Foundation of Suicide Prevention.
