Harry Shnurman

December 26th, 1953 - January 18th, 2007

Biography

Harry was born December 26, 1953 in Des Monies, Iowa, the son of Meyer and Frymeta (Chojka) Shnurman. He graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1971. On June 8, 1982, Harry was united in marriage to Charlotte Sutton on their family farm. This union was blessed with seven children: Lars, Isaiah, Sampson, Gabrielle, Ariana, Elijah and Hannah. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 24 years, Charlotte of Prole; his children, Lars, Isaiah, Sampson, Gabrielle, Ariana, Elijah and Hannah, all of Prole; his parents, Meyer and Frances of Des Moines; brothers, Benjamin and wife, Sandy of Moline, Illinois and Jacob of Des Moines; niece Robin; nephew Scott; and a host of friends. Harry was dedicated to creating a self-sustaining, independent, and carefree life for himself and his family. Of all the ways to accomplish this, Harry did it through farming. He taught his family the importance of hard work, and to take pride in what they do. Besides being their father, protector, and provider, he was also their coach. All of Harry’s children have grown up playing the game of racquetball that he taught them. Harry loved his family and treasured the time he spent with them. His presence will be missed in the lives of those who knew and loved him.
