Francisco A. Romero

Francisco A. Romero age 86 of Chama, NM. died peacefully on Thursday April 9, 2009. His family remembers him as a positive and pleasent individual, taking pleasure in playing tunes on his guitar and harmonica. He was originally from Brazos but resided also in Chama. He worked in Ranching braking horses and tending to sheep, and genuinly cared for all animals. He was preceded in death by his companions Stella Martinez, and later by Elena Gallegos, his dear parents Rosario and Margarita Romero, son Andres Antonio Romero, and sisters Cleo DeYapp and Addie Gonzales. He is survived by his brother Manuel J. Romero of Albuquerque, sisters; Rosie Minez of Utah, Nancy Martinez of Albuquerque, and Aggie Yost of Alamogordo, niece and caregiver Betty Martin, nephew Jimmy DeYapp and other relatives.
Recitation of the Rosary will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday evening at Saint Patrick Catholic Church. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10:30 a.m. also at Saint Patrick Catholic Church with Father Clemmins officiating. Serving the family as pallbearers will be: Ronald N. Moya, Jimmy R. DeYapp, Larkin DeYapp, Larkin DeYapp Jr., Jonathan DeYapp and Bobby DeYapp. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert, Robert Jr., Gomicindo, Timothy and Darren DeYapp, Zachary and Simeon Andre Moya, Cameron, Terrance and James Garcia, Fidel, Louis and Lawrence Martinez, Eloy Leyba, Estrellita Dia, and Megan Maez.
