Stokes, Dean Prentiss, (71) departed on his next journey on July 26, 2019 in Boquete, Panama.
Dean was born on September 28, 1947 in Commerce, Texas to Bill and Easter McGowan Stokes. Though Dean called the North Texas area home most of his life, the world was truly his neighborhood, and he traveled to many countries over the years.
Dean was a life-long entrepreneur and a self-made man. He never lost his life-long passion for cars, and was an advocate for healthy living, most recently working toward developing a school for organic farming in Panama. A jack-of-all-trades, Dean's career took him from bike mechanic to real estate developer to life coach and spiritual mentor for many.
He genuinely loved to connect with people on a deep level, and had many long-time friendships that brought mutual joy.
Dean is survived by his brother, Don and wife Deborah Stokes, his son Zebariah and wife Stephanie Stokes, heart-son Rick and wife Jennifer Samples, two grandsons, Jesare and Thatcher Stokes and four heart-grandkids, Rayna, Elizabeth, Simon and Victoria Samples.
The world is already missing that infectious and boisterous laugh that would draw us all in, and the positive energy Dean always brought to every occasion.
There will be a modest service in Panama followed by a private memorial for his family.
We would dearly love for Dean's grandchildren to know their grandfather more than just the basic facts listed above, and we need your help. Please share your favorite Dean stories as a tribute to the vibrant life he led, to be held in memory for years to come.

Condolences to the family & friends of Dean. I enjoyed find and reading his wonderful Ensifer blog, and the correspondence we share some years ago. I do hope the site is maintained and preserved, at least on the internet archive, because his history in scientology, the life & times he had, the friends he met, the photos he saved and posted, are so important for those still in to read. Farewell, Dean.

Dean and I were good friends since 1969, wow 50 years. We shared a lot of life together, learned a lot from each other and helped ans supported each other. When I met Dean he couldn't read in 1969. He later became the best, focused, and determined student I have ever seen. He was interested in so many things and had a zest for life that was truly awesome!!!
Love you DEAN!!!

“All praise to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. He is the source of every mercy and the God who comforts us. He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When others are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us” (2 Corinthians 1:3-4 nlt). Peace, strength and love to you and your family as you remember your brother.
