Deacon Patrick Delozier

Biography


Deacon Clarence Patrick DeLozier, the son of Harlan and Lucille McSpadden DeLozier, was born in 1931 in Chelsea, Oklahoma. He died at home in Taos on February 26, 2016.Pat moved to Taos in 1981, where he was instrumental in bringing racquetball to Taos, and worked at Taos Ski Valley. He married Delfina Ruiz DeLozier December 18, 1982 and they have lived on Taos Mesa ever since. Pat was passionate about skiing, racquetball, and tennis. He loved dogs, baseball, and most of all, giving back to his community.
Pat is preceded in death by his parents, Harlan and Lucille; his brothers: Mac and Don; his infant brother Arthur; and sisters Mary Frances and Rue. He is also preceded in death by his son Michael.
He is survived by his wife, Delfina, and her adopted family: Lisa Wardlaw, Tait Wardlaw, Ted Wardlaw, and Meg Wardlaw Marsland, and their children, by his daughters: Debbie DeLozier, and Diana Parlato and her children Zack, Jordan and Kyle.
Deacon Pat is also survived by the wonderful community of the St Francis de Asisis church in Ranchos. Pat was ordained as a Deacon July 10, 1993, and served 3 years in Holy Trinity Church in Arroyo Seco, he then served 19 years at the St Francis de Asisis Church. Serving this community brought Pat immeasurable joy, and the way the community has rallied around Pat and Delfina these last years is a testament to the selfless way Pat lived and served as a Deacon.
A Rosary was held on March 4th, 2016. Funeral Mass was held on March 5th, 2016. Both services were held at St Francis de Asisis Church. Burial procession followed the mass, from the church to Jesus Nasareno Cemetery. Meal following the service, at St Francis de Asisis Gym. Arrangements by Rivera Funeral Home.
