Michael Raymond Bernal

Michael Raymond Bernal, 62, passed away on August 5, 2018. Born on the 4th of July 1956 in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents: Bennie Barnal of Pena Blanca, New Mexico and Mary Ulemia Romero, from Canjilon, New Mexico. Sisters: Tracy Rivera, Rosalie Gallegos and Dolores Borner; and Brother: Alisandro Martinez.

Michael is survived by his children: Raymond Jr. Bernal of Firestone, Colorado, Michele Wellsh of Firestone, Colorado and Maggie & Matt Ruybal from Santa Fe, New Mexico. Four grandchildren: Raymond Marcus Bernal, Jenaye Wellsh, Emily Ruybal and Dillon Ruybal. Sister: Yolanda Bernal from Colorado; Brothers: Peter and Maryana Bernal from Taos, New Mexico, Benny and Irma Bernal, from Pena Blanca, New Mexico, Frank Martin, from Cuyamungue, New Mexico, Jerry & Dena Alridge from Temple, Texas , Robert and Dorothy Bernal, from Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Michael was a kind hearted person who was always ready to lend a helping hand. He graduated from Espanola Valley High School, where he enjoyed playing football, wrestling and baseball. He was a die-hard Boston Celtic and Los Angles Ram’s fan. He enjoyed the outdoors and was a member of Carpenter’s Local Union.

A rosary will be recited on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at 10:30 A.M. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Espanola, New Mexico, followed by the Mass of Christian burial at 11:30 A. M., burial will follow at the Sacred Heart Cemetery.

The Bernal family has entrusted the care of their loved one to the Rivera Family Funeral Home and Crematory, Espanola, New Mexico.
