Michael A. Tafoya, life-long resident of Santa Fe, passed away on March 27, 2019 after a lengthy battle to Parkinson. He was born March 28, 1954 in Santa Fe to Richard Sr. and Flora Tafoya.
Michael is preceded in death by his parents, Richard Sr. and Flora Tafoya; brothers Stevie and Richard Jr,; brother-in-law Alfred Ortiz; sister-in-law Lillian Tafoya; nephews Leroy Ortiz and Ronnie Tafoya; great niece Tiffany Valdez; Maternal Grandparents Ignacio and Rita Romero and Paternal Grandparents Mateo and Theodita Tafoya.
He is survived by his sisters Stella Ortiz and Tessie G. Ortega (Joe) and brother John S. Tafoya (Mabel).
Also surviving are 4 nephews; 4 nieces; and several great nephews and nieces.
Michael enjoyed the outdoors, camping and fishing in the Pecos Wilderness. He also was a great assembler and salesman of bicycles. By profession, he worked as a caregiver and construction worker.
We would like to acknowledge the Clovis HealthCare and Rehabilitation Center for the excellent care given to our brother Michael during his 6-year stay at the facility.
A Rosary will be recited on Thursday, April 4, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. at Cristo Rey Catholic Church with Mass to follow at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 4, 2019 with Interment to follow at Santa Fe Memorial Gardens.
