Maria R. Lopez

Maria R. Lopez age 89 of Espanola died peacefully on Monday November 22, 2010. She was born in Vallecitos to the late Abenicio and Ernestina Lopez and was a lifelong resident of Espanola. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Jake and Anselmo Lopez, sister Celina Lopez, brother in law Joe Griego and nephews Max Griego and Jerry Gallegos. She is survived by her son Gilbert Lopez of Espanola, siblings; Ruben Lopez of Chimayo, Irene Griego of Espanola, Arthur Lopez and wife Lolita of Espanola, two nieces and 1 nephew raised by her; Pauline Lopez and husband Daniel of Espanola, Rosalita Romero and husband Miguel of Espanola and Henry Lopez of Albuquerque, as well as many special nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews and other relatives. A wake service will be held on Wednesday November 24th at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel at Rivera Family Funeral Home in Espanola, The mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday November 26th at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Espanola with interment following at the church cemetery. There will be no services or visitation taking place on Thanksgiving day. Serving as pallbearers will be: Lee, Ryan and Henry Lopez, Palmita Romero, Pat Griego, Angel Padilla. Honorary pallbearers will be: Jerome Gallegos, J.P. Martinez, Daniella Carmona, Ernestina Romero, Michelle Lopez, Rafael Hernandez, Shawn and Trina Griego, Peggy Atencio and Tirzah Urquidi .
