Shelle Goodwin

Shelle Goodwin, 48 of Winterset, Iowa died Thursday, December 24, 2015, at Mercy Hospice in Johnston.
A visitation will be held from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m., Sunday, December 27, at Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare in Winterset, where family will be present to receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 28, at Ochiltree’s with burial in the Winterset Cemetery.
Memorials in Shelle’s name may be directed to the family for a later designation and online condolences may be left at ochiltree.com.
Shelle Denise Michael was born May 2, 1967, in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of Jim and Shari (Williams) Michael. She attended school in Adel and later went to DMACC studying drafting where she met her future husband, Brian Goodwin. The couple were married on June 17, 1989 in West Des Moines.
During her working career, Shelle did many things in addition to being a homemaker raising her children. Most recently she worked with Fons and Porter’s Love of Quilting in Winterset and she was also a photographer doing business as Coffee Creek Creations, where she specialized in family and senior portraits. Shelle enjoyed quilting, crafting and being with people. She was very much into music and was a music enthusisist. She loved her Mustang and owned and drove her own motorcycle. She was a ‘cheermom’ and loved her kids and grandkids more than anything else.
Having had a lung transplant in 2008, she was a member of the Iowa Pulmonary Hypertension Support Group.
Survivors include her husband, Brian Goodwin; four children, James Frazier of Washington, Jake (Danica) Goodwin of Winterset, Zak Goodwin of Winterset, Grace Goodwin of Winterset; mother, Shari (Ron) Reynolds of Dexter; siblings, Paul (Kim) Michael of Springfield, MO, Kory (Chrissy) Michael, of Earlham, Shane (Shannessy) Michael of West Des Moines, Brett Michael of Des Moines, Lori Reynolds (Justin Breckenridge) of Ankeny, Jennifer Jones of Waukee, and Sarah (Brad) Jensen of Dexter; and her six grandchildren, Riley Frazier, Dylan Frazier, Kenna Goodwin, Mady Goodwin, Jaxen Goodwin and Nella Goodwin.
She was preceded in death by her father, Jim Michael, step-mother, Kathy Michael; and a sister, Brenda Schmitz.
